This page has to do with the card issue that I would pay for a two way ticket from Karmiel to Kiryat Shmona or vice-versa and only receive one way because the card reader was unable to read the card properly. Shasha was the driver who refused to honor the card; but to his credit, he "solved" the issue by having me purchase another card for NIS 5 Shekel that worked ever sense, with me starting out saying "Le Kiryat Shmona" all the time or in Hebrew "לקירית שמונה ".
In any case, I have the copy of the complaint here as well as the stubs. I think the problem was with Yosef because I had asked for a replacement card and he was unwilling to give me one when the original card did not work. He could read it on his machine; but that was not the point. The magnetic backing seemed to have worn out over time, and the readers on the bus are not able to consistently read old magnetic cards. Unless refreshed, customers end up paying for two-way tickets and only receiving one-way tickets, especially since the drivers no longer honor the paper tickets and only rely on the magnetic readers which the way I see it are somewhat faulty, unfortunately, especially with older cards.
The solution is to get a new card. Unfortunately these are supposed to be free. But when a replacement card is asked for, it is not free or even available with the picture on it, like it should be. Also, the replacement card without a picture is NIS 5 Shekel available thankfully inside the bus.
To Egged's credit, they did provide me an SMS that there was an update to the issue, and I am looking forward to calling them after all of my ducks are in line.
The are available to call at *2800 and 03-914-2010.
